A powerful explosion occurred on the Ryazan-Moscow trunk oil pipeline, operated by Transneft, on August 26. Sources within the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported this to RBC-Ukraine.

The pipeline serves as a primary supply route for petroleum products to the capital of the aggressor state, Moscow, according to the statement. Emergency crews and firefighters arrived at the scene, intelligence officials noted.

Per the GUR’s information, fuel deliveries to Moscow have been temporarily suspended, while Transneft representatives assess damages from the incident.

Local social media users reported an explosion in the village of Bozhatkovo near Ryazan. Witnesses described hearing a loud “blast” followed by a field fire.

Bozhatkovo is located approximately 180 km from Moscow. The Ryazan-Moscow pipeline spans 197 km with an annual capacity of 5.2 million tons.

The infrastructure transports gasoline and other products from Ryazan Oil Refinery to Moscow and surrounding regions. The refinery, among Russia’s largest, has been targeted multiple times, including on January 24, January 26 (causing operational shutdowns), February 24, and August 5.
