Construction of the plant began in early 2024, with initial plans aiming for completion by late spring or early summer 2025.
Test operations at the shell production facility commenced in the second quarter of 2025, targeting an annual output of up to 350,000 shells once fully operational from 2027 onward.
The site features two primary structures: a manufacturing unit for 155-mm artillery projectiles and a separate area for loading and packaging operations.
With investments nearing 500 million euros, the project is expected to generate over 500 new jobs.
Rheinmetall also intends to commence production of rocket artillery ammunition at the plant starting in 2026.
